If you are one of our readers, you may know that there's a major security hole in iOS 4.1 (and iOS 4.2 beta too) allows to you to bypass your lock code and make phone calls even when phone is locked. We already tried it on jailbroken and non-jailbroken devices and it works like a charm! You can give it a try.
So, if you want really to keep your current jailbreak safe and untethered, so it'd be better not to update to the new iOS 4.1.1 and save your SHSH blobs now. We already have full step by step guide posted here to save your SHSH blobs using the popular must have tool TinyUmbrella. Stay tuned as we will inform you when the new update is available.
Update: Apple spokeswoman contacted Wired.com mentioning the security flaw :
We’re aware of this issue and we will deliver a fix to customers as part of the iOS 4.2 software update in November. We can conclude from this that Apple will not release version called iOS 4.1.1
